NC pizza store manager dies after blow to head
KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — Police in a small North Carolina town think a pizza store manager who died after being struck in the head was a victim of a robbery attempt.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that 24-year-old Kenny Ring of Raleigh died late Monday after being hit in the head early Saturday morning at the store in Knightdale.
Police think Ring was attacked as he was closing the store. No arrests have been made.
Assistant town manager Seth Lawless says officials think it’s the first murder in the history of the 82-year-old town near Raleigh.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Department and Raleigh police helped Knightdale police process the crime scene.
