Fight at party leads to attempted murder charges
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing attempted murder charges following a fight at a party Saturday night.
According to Wilmington Police spokesperson, Cathryn Lindsay, the fight happened around 8 p.m. in the 200 block of Davie Drive, near Shipyard Boulevard.
Lindsay said 31 year old Nahun Calderon-Rodriguez was at a party when he got into a fight with another person. That’s when police say he pulled out a gun, pointed it at the other person, pulled the trigger, but the gun didn’t fire. Police say Calderon-Rodriguez left the party, but shortly after was arrested at another home on the same street.
He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and was booked in the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
No one was injured during the fight.
