Arson suspect surrenders

The man accused of setting his New Hanover County house on fire last week has turned himself in. Deputies say Edward Flagler came to the Sheriff’s Office this morning. He was released on a $20,000 secured bond.

Flagler faces three charges of arson for the fire on Tall Tree Lane. Investigators say his wife and two grandchildren were in the house when the fire started.

Flagler is scheduled to make his first court appearance monday morning.
