DA Rex Gore To Run Again

The long time district attorney for Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus counties has announced he will seek re-election. Rex Gore made the announcement today. The Brunswick Democrat has served as DA for the 13th District since 1991. He says the district’s worthless check and teen court programs are some of his biggest accomplishments.

Whiteville attorney Butch Pope has announced his intentions to challenge Gore for the Democratic nomination. Jon David, a New Hanover County assistant DA, ran against Gore on the Republican ticket in the last election. He says he’ll announce his intentions after the filing period begins next week.
