Boy injured in personal watercraft accident in Oak Island

OAK ISLAND, NC (StarNews) — An 11-year-old boy received minor injuries when the personal watercraft he was riding on collided with another just before 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Oak Island Fire Chief Chris Anselmo said the boy had a laceration on his leg following the incident that occurred near the 700 block of West Yacht Drive.

Anselmo said the boy’s parents had rented personal watercraft for the day, and the boy was on the back of his father’s when the parents’ watercraft collided as the father was making a turn.
