Retirees outpacing workforce growth in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (StarNews) — Although Brunswick County is continually ranked among the fastest-growing areas in North Carolina, the population growth has not been evenly distributed across age groups.

The percentage difference of Brunswick’s growth in prime-age workforce versus the young and old populations was the second highest nationwide among counties of more than 100,000 people, according to a report in GOVERNING, a publication tailored to state and local government leaders.
