Despite snow, spring arrives at Wilmington Garden Show

While it should definitely look like winter tonight, there’s a taste of spring at the Wilmington Garden Show.

Exhibitors spent the day setting up their displays at Cape Fear Community College’s Schwartz Center. The Garden Show will be in full bloom Saturday and Sunday.

Whether you want to know more about hummingbird feeders or installing your own irrigation, there will be vendors and educational speakers there to help.

The show promises to instill the spring seed in all who attend.

“The weather’s been so bad this winter we’re hoping everyone’s ready to get out and get excited about gardening,” Garden Show Chair Melissa Hight said. “This is really the first of spring. We usually consider the Garden Show to bring in spring.”

Organizers say at this point, the Garden Show is still scheduled to open tomorrow at 9 a.m.
