Carolina Beach looking for pier funding

Carolina beach is looking for funding for its park and pier project. Town Manager Tim Owens asked the New Hanover County Commission for $1.4 million to help offset the cost of the land. Commissioners took no action on the request.

Carolina Beach recently secured the two acres needed for the project. The total cost of the pier and park project is about $4 million.
