Store Owner chases thief, almost run over

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Caught on camera, a Wilmington business owner tried to stop two thieves from taking two drills from his hardware store.
This is security video from Stevens Ace Hardware. The owner, Andy Stevens, posted it to Facebook in hopes of catching the men.
In the security video, you see the thieves backing into a parking spot, even changing tags on the SUV, and the store owner chasing them down.
We spoke with Stevens on the phone.

“You go to work and you work all day and you don’t want someone to just take something,” Stevens said. “Especially brazen and bold like these guys were doing. Just walked right in and walked right out so your adrenalin goes from 0-100”

Stevens admitted that trying to stop them wasn’t the best decision to make, and that he is working with the Wilmington Police Department to track the thieves down.
He says they already have their names.
