WPD: Suspect holds gun to man’s head at Rum Runners

Offense: Assault by pointing gun, carrying a concealed weapon

Summary: Officers responded to a call of a man brandishing a gun in the downtown area. A description of the suspect was broadcast. An officer was flagged down by several citizens who reported that the man was headed south on Front Street. Officers stopped a man matching the suspect description. When they patted him down, they found a Glock .45 handgun. A victim in the incident approached the officers and said the man had pulled the gun inside the club, “racked” it and put it to the victim’s head, allegedly because the victim had disrespected the suspect’s girlfriend. The suspect, Tristian David Wright, d.o.b. 6-18-1985, of Jacksonville, NC was arrested and charged with the offenses listed above. He was released on $500 bond.
