Arrest made in Sunday double shooting
(Wilmington) – A man who was stopped near the scene of Sunday morning’s double shooting now faces numerous felony charges in connection with the incident.
When Jemel Antonio Sneed, d.o.b. 5-14-1989, was stopped for questioning soon after the shootings, he was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Initially he was booked on that charge and held on $100,000 secured bond. His booking photo is attached. As of Monday morning, Sneed now faces these additional charges:
Attempted Murder
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon
Possession of an Altered Firearm (i.e., with serial number removed)
Both men who were shot remain in intensive care today at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The victims are Tyron Muse, Jr., age 21, of New Orleans, and Hasaan Jamail Shipman, age 24, of Wilmington.

Sunday, March 7, 2010 – 9:15 a.m.
Wilmington Police officers on patrol heard gunfire at about 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning and found two men who had been shot near N. 4th and Swann Streets.
Both shooting victims were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where they were in surgery this morning.
Based on witness descriptions, officers stopped a man for questioning, but no one has been charged in connection with the shootings. Detectives are still conducting interviews and canvassing the area. Additional information will be released later today as details are confirmed.
