Wilmington home sales up year-to-year

Home sales for the Wilmington market in February are up over the same time last year, according to figures released from the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR).

February recorded 278 home sales, compared to 252 in February 2009. Listings tally 986 homes for the month.

After two months, there is an upward trend. January recorded 266 home sales, up from 197 homes in 2009. According to sales numbers, March is typically a higher sales month. 340 homes were sold in March in 2009.

The February numbers read similar to a decade ago, when 273 homes were sold in February 2001 and 243 homes were sold in February 2000. Home sales still lag quite a bit from previous years, especially compared to the more than 600 homes sold in February 2005.
