Yahweh Center Children’s Village filing for bankruptcy
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – After years of dealing with financial problems, the Yahweh Center Children’s Village is closing.
According to a letter mailed to employees, the agency has filed for bankruptcy.
Employees say on Monday, they were originally told only one children’s cottage would close.
Then a couple of days later, they were told the entire children’s village would close by August 31.
The letter also states that back wages and PTO will be frozen.
The letter says once the property is sold, employees will receive those wages.
We reached out to Executive Director Carla Roberts but have not heard back.
