Carolina Beach Police foil murder plot
Carolina Beach Police say they foiled a murder plot over the weekend.
Narcotics officers say early Saturday morning they met 56-year-old Arthur Pedersen and agreed to go to a party. On the way, Pedersen directed the officers to a home, where he said he was going to kill two people. After he pried open a screen door, they arrested him.
Police say Pedersen confessed he had planned to kill a woman who had “wronged” him and her male friend. He is now in the New Hanover County jail under $500,000 bond charged with attempted murder and burglary.
