Hagan, Burr exchange pot shots

North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr has been catching a lot of flack this week for canceling a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Wednesday. Fellow Tar Heel Kay Hagan was among many Democrats who criticized Burr. She accused the Republican of slowing down the political process.

Burr fired back today. He said he objected on behalf of other Republicans who were not on the floor of the Senate Wednesday. He also said when he went to the rescheduled meeting today, Hagan was absent.

The two senators have mostly gotten along since Hagan took office last year.
