NHC Sheriff: Man out on bond for dealing weed gets caught doing it again
WILMINGTON – A joint investigation between the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Police Department, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force resulted in the arrest of Nakia Dirahn Hooper for several narcotic violations.
Hooper, arrested on March 6th for similar charges and currently out of jail on bond, was observed receiving a white grocery bag from 222 N. 31st Street. As Hooper was leaving the residence he spotted Detectives and attempted to flee. Detectives were able to apprehend Hooper without incident or injury. Detectives found Hooper to be in possession of more than one pound of marijuana.
Nakia Dirahn Hooper, 35, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver, possession of Schedule I, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture controlled substance Schedule VI, and sell/deliver drugs within 300ft of a school. Hooper remains in custody at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $60,000 secured bond.
