Grange takes oath to finish Catlin’s NC House term

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina House of Representatives has a new leader for District 20.

Holly Grange was sworn into office this morning at the New Hanover County Government Center.

Grange won the Republican primary in March. With no opponent in November’s general election, she was already going to succeed Rep. Rick Catlin, who did not run for another term.

She’s getting a head start because Catlin decide to go ahead and step down early, and the county GOP’s executive committee nominated her to finish out his term.

Rep. Grange says she is ready to serve.

“I would like to serve on the Regulatory Reform Committee. I’m also interested in transportation,” Grange said. “You may know that I was on the Ports Authority Board, so that’s very important to me, and we have a lot of transportation type issues that are unique to this part of the state.”

Although representative holly was publicly sworn-in today, She officially took her oath earlier this week in Raleigh so she could be part of a GOP caucus meeting.
