CFCC continues site work, waits on tax vote

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College continues to clean up the old police station property in Downtown Wilmington in hopes of breaking ground for a new classroom building.

Tractors and bulldozers continue to clean up the site at Front and Red Cross Streets. The college has designs and plans for the Union Station Building at that site. County commissioners have considered postponing the construction because of the county’s financial problems.

We’re told the preparation work that is being done now is being paid for by bonds that had already been issued.
