Southport Fire Department to hold 9/11 remembrance ceremony

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) – To mark the somber 15th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Southport’s volunteer fire department is holding a remembrance ceremony.

The ceremony will take place Saturday at Southport fire headquarters at 1011 N. Howe Street.

The Honor Guard will perform a ceremony at 10 a.m. for the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

After that, the fire house will open for tours from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

They will have food and drinks, as well as activities for both young and old.
