Long-time Wilmington restaurant closes doors

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today a long time Front Street deli closed its doors for good. The New Liverpool Deli served Wilmingtonian’s breakfast and lunch for 35 years, but today was the downtown location’s last day.

Many customers have been visiting the deli for years and were sad to hear this lunch would be their last.

“I’ve been kinda a regular here for the last ten years, and seeing the place close, it’s just really really sad,” Sharad Shah said. “Coworkers and I from the library just like coming to visit here, so it’s gonna be sad to see them leave.”

A spokesman for the deli told us it is closing because the building is being sold. He asks that everyone visit their other location Ruth’s Kitchen on Market Street.
