Three Wilmington teens in custody after shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Three 16-year-olds face several charges after an overnight drive-by shooting.
Wilmington police say they arrested Roderick Allen, Dangelo Durant, Jr. and Isaiah Brown shortly after midnight.
Witnesses told police the three were involved in a drive-by shooting that happened near 615 S. 9th Street just before 11:30 p.m. The victim, an 18-year-old male, told police he was walking down the street when he heard gunshots and ran. He was shot in the hand. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for surgery.
Police say the shooting damaged several homes and cars in the area.
All three suspects were caught in the 2700 block of Princess Place Drive after a brief foot chase.
The teens charges include assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a handgun by a minor, speeding to elude arrest and resisting arrest.
