Suspected golf cart thieves busted in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY – Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have recovered stolen property from incidents that occurred last week in the Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach areas.

There were two golf carts stolen from two residences located on Oakland Drive and a utility trailer stolen from Gause Auto and Trailer Sales in Sunset Beach between Monday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 5th.

The two listed suspects, Robert Maldanado and Gary Thompson, were found in possession of one of the stolen golf carts and the utility trailer at 2000 Inland Drive in Ocean Isle Beach last week. The suspects were residing at this residence when arrested, only one street over from Oakland Drive.
