WWAY NewsChannel 3 welcomes Greg Privett

Greg Privett is headed to Wilmington to join the News Team and be our newest anchor. Greg is originally from Athens, AL, which is near Huntsville. He’s worked in newsrooms across the state of Alabama for the last 15 years, including stations in Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Florence. Most recently, he was a Weekend Anchor / Reporter at WHNT-TV, the CBS station in Huntsville.

Greg was also recently honored with several awards, including Best Investigative Reporter from the Associated Press in 2009 and Best Investigative Series from the Alabama Broadcasters Association in 2007.

He got his BA in Journalism from the University of North Alabama in Florence. Greg also has a degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

You’ll see Greg on WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 5, 6 & 11. His first day at the station will be June 1.
