Carolina Beach police arrest daughter of woman found dead in freezer

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) – A North Carolina woman wanted by Goldsboro police has been arrested in Carolina Beach.

Police say Marcella Jean Lee, 56, sold a freezer in a yard sale.  Her mother’s body was later found inside it.

An autopsy revealed no signs of foul play in the death of 75-year-old Arma Ann Roush, who lived with her daughter. Roush was last seen in August.

Police said a neighbor bought the freezer from Lee for $30. It was taped shut and Lee apparently told the neighbor that church members would come by to pick up items in the freezer.

No one ever showed up.

Lee is charged with concealing/failure to report a death.  Her bond is set at $50,000.
