Man accused in fatal crash upgraded

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The condition of the driver charged with DWI in connection to the death of a Brunswick County woman has been upgraded. Twenty-two-year-old Daniel Brennick is now in fair condition, up from serious condition yesterday.

According to Highway Patrol, Brennick was drunk and speeding when he crossed the center line on River Road near the intersection of NC 87 Friday Night. He hit Satu Hariss’s car head-on killing her.

Brennick could be charged with second-degree murder.
