Search begins for New Hanover County woman who ran off during trial

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – A woman facing trial for multiple felonies left the New Hanover County courthouse this morning and never returned, according to District Attorney Ben David.

Officials say Tina Michelle Murray, 36, was on electric monitoring and out on bond for two separate breaking and entering cases in Pine Valley. She’s also charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

When she failed to return to court after a recess in her pretrial hearing, officials learned her electronic monitoring device had been removed.

Judge Douglas Parsons issued an order for her arrest and set a $2 million bond for Murray when she’s caught.

Murray’s husband, David Cox, entered guilty pleas in April for his role in the cases and is serving up to 11 years in prison.

If you know where Murray is, call the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 343-3600.
