Wilmington license plate agency reopening after nearly 7-month closure

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is reopening a license plate agency in Wilmington.

The office closed on September 22, 2023, when the previous operator’s contract ended.

The agency will be operated by Ursula Ortega and will be at the same location as the previous agency at 13 S. Kerr Ave., at the Market Plaza Shopping Center.

The location will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on state holidays.

LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards and duplicate registrations.
