UPDATE: Escapees from juvenile center behind bars
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County teen, along with three others who escaped from the Edgecombe Youth Development Center, is back in custody.
According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, the four escaped around 9:30 p.m. from the Rocky Mount facility after assaulting a staff member.
They are identified as Juan M. of New Hanover County, Dakota Y. from Guilford County, Joshua G. of Wake County, and Justin M. from Carteret County. At the time of their escape, officials said they were highly concerned for the safety of both the public and juveniles, based on their behavior during the escape and prior history of unpredictable behavior.
The Spring Hope Police Department caught all four of the teens around 9:45 a.m.
