Justice pulls Topsail Beach recall bill after Soles drops support

TOPSAIL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Sen. R.C. Soles’s lack of support has led Republican Rep. Carolyn Justice to withdraw a bill she submitted in the state legislature last week. Citing numerous complaints from Topsail Beach residents stemming from a controversy about beach renourishment, Justice filed a bill to let voters recall public officials in the town. Soles, who represents Pender County in the state senate, was expected to file similar legislation this week.

Justice told this morning that Soles had contacted her and asked her to withdraw the bill saying he never supported it and did not think it was proper.
