Unlicensed NC man accused of practicing medicine
RALEIGH, N.C. — A North Carolina man has been arrested and accused of practicing veterinary medicine without a license.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that 30-year-old Michael Johnson of Raleigh is accused of selling veterinary medicine online.
Court records released Monday show Johnson is charged with two misdemeanor counts of unauthorized practice of veterinary medicine. Johnson told a Wake County magistrate he didn’t know offering to sell the medicines was illegal.
Investigators say Johnson offered to vaccinate a dog that did not belong to him and also offered to de-worm a dog that did not belong to him.
Police say Johnson offered the services May 26.
Johnson was being held under $2,000 bail. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
