New home for Old Books
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Good news for fans of the Downtown Wilmington bookstore Old Books on Front. The store’s owners had to evacuate their previous shop, after the city condemned the buildings at 22 and 24 N. Front St.
Today, the Rohler family purchased a new piece of property for their store just up the street at 249 North Front. That’s near the Soap Box and across the street from WHQR.
An extensive renovation of the building is underway. The Rolhers hope to open Old Books on Front at its new location by Labor Day.
