Suspect in fatal crash not talking

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man who police say hit and killed a 23-year-old woman on NC 211 in Brunswick County last month is not talking. We talked to a relative of Richard Constantineau’s today who says the judge and his lawyers have told the family not to talk to us.

Police say 42-year-old Constantineau crossed the center line and hit Stephanie Heath head-on. We checked with the Clerk of Court’s office and were told no orders have been placed on the case.

When we reached Constantineau late this afternoon, he said he had “no comment.”
