Driver robbed at intersection of 12th & Chestnut

Time: 2:20 p.m. – Saturday afternoon
Location: 12th/ Chestnut Streets
Offense: Armed Robbery

Summary: The male victim, age 30, told officers that he was driving through the area looking for a friend’s house. He said when he got to the intersection, five men ran up to his car. One of the men displayed a handgun and told him to roll his window down.

He said when he lowered the window, the armed man demanded everything he had. He said he gave the man $500 cash and his cell phone. Then all the men fled. The victim drove home and called police approximately one hour later.

He said he was too shaken up to call sooner.
