Brunswick County Schools back in session Thursday
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — After four days out of class, students in Brunswick County will return to school on a regular schedule Thursday.
The district cancelled classes last Friday ahead of Hurricane Matthew and so far this week as the county dealt with the lingering aftermath of the storm.
Despite resuming classes, there will still be some challenges. According to a news release, based on the test runs conducted by bus drivers this morning, routes impacting 60 students are compromised due to road conditions. The district says its Transportation Department is working with school administrators to contact and work individually with the parents of these students.
Parents are reminded that due to a few transportation work-arounds some buses may be running late tomorrow and Friday.
