Argument leads to Shallotte shooting

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man is in jail after shooting another man. It happened around 9:30 last night at 4532 Rounding Run Road in Shallotte.

The Sheriff’s Office says Michael McDuffie and Gary Saunders were arguing when McDuffie shot Saunders in the pelvis. McDuffie is in the Brunswick County Jail under $150,000 bond. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Saunders is listed in stable condition at the hospital.
