Ward wins Pender Commission GOP nomination

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Fewer than 600 voters took part in the Republican run-off for the District 2 Pender County Commission race. That meant a 67-vote margin turned out to be a big win for Chester Ward over Timothy Thomas.

Ward, a Pender County Sheriff’s Deputy, now faces Democrat Bill Marshburn in November for the seat currently held by Norwood Blanchard. Blanchard decided not to seek reelection.
