WPD overnight crime report
Time : 10:03 p.m. – Tuesday night
Location: 604 S. College Rd – BP Gas Center #2 – Wilmington
Offense: Armed Robbery
Summary: A female employee reported that she was outside smoking a cigarette when a man approached and told her to get inside or he would shoot her. The victim said the man poked her in the back with a hard object which she believed was a handgun. She said she went inside where the robber forced her to open the register and hand over cash. He also demanded Newport cigarettes and the employee gave him four packs. Then he fled. The robber is described as a black male, approximately 30 – 40 years of age, approximately 5’9”, heavy build. He was wearing black and white sneakers, blue jeans, a brown hoodie sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, and a blue bandana covering his face.
Time: 12:47 a.m. – Wednesday morning
Location: 19th & Market Streets
Offense: Armed Robbery
Summary: The two victims, both juveniles, reported that as they were leaving the Shop-N-Go in the 1600 block of Market Street, two men on bicycles followed them out of the parking lot. They said the men stopped them in the area of 19th and Market Streets. One of the men asked to borrow a cell phone, then gave it back and pulled out a handgun. The robber pointed the gun at the victims and told them to hand over their cell phones and money. The victims ran away. One of them fell and scraped his elbow, but nothing was taken.
