Man charged with rape, kidnapping five days after prison release

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Held at knifepoint and raped by someone she knew. The suspect? A man just released from prison.

Wilmington Police say Harold Goins, out of prison for five days, raped the woman at the Pines Apartments Wednesday. Police say they did not alert the public because the crime was not random.

US Marshals and police arrested Goins last night. He’s charged with first degree forcible rape, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.
