North Carolina is America’s 4th laziest state
A new government study ranks the laziest states in the nation by examining where people spend the bulk of their time sitting around.
North Carolina ranks fourth on the list.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor tracked data over five years to compile the rankings. It evaluated how much time people over the age of 15 spent their day sitting, surfing the Web or sleeping.
More than one-fourth of North Carolinians who participate in the study said they had not exercised in the past month, and the state ranks 10th nationwide for obesity. The average time spent watching television and relaxing and thinking is slightly greater there than in most states.
The number one state on the list is Louisiana. The least laziest are North Dakota and Hawaii.
