Dear Viewers,

Sometimes in life, you have to make difficult choices for professional and personal reasons. After four years at WWAY, I have decided to accept a position in Portland, Maine, for the ABC affiliate as the weekend anchor. I am excited to be closer to home and take the next step in my career, but I would like to take a moment to thank the viewers and my WWAY family for making these years some of the most challenging and rewarding in my life.

As a reporter and anchor, I’ve gotten to know many of you. On a daily basis, I am humbled by the chance to tell your stories. I’ve followed a family seeing our beautiful Wrightsville Beach for the first time. I’ve also had the chance to talk to victims of terrible crimes and families experiencing tragedy, either through sickness or natural disasters. These stories are moments in time I hold dear. It’s never an easy job, but it’s one that is so rewarding because of the viewers and my co-workers here in Southeastern North Carolina.

Wilmington is now a place I call home. They say you can never go back, but surely I will to visit.

Thank you for inviting me into your homes over the past four years.

-Meghan
