Brunswick Co. attorney charged with burglary and assault

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested a local subject on multiple charges for an incident that occurred in the Shallotte area on Saturday, August 7th at approximately 9:30 pm.

Deputies responded to a residence at 1304 Hewett Farms Road. Deputies spoke with the victim, David Wayne Hewett, and obtained information that suspect, Mack Leon Hewett had committed the alleged offenses listed below.

Mack Leon Hewett Jr. was arrested and transported to the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
