Location: 1000 block Wooster Street
Offense: Resist / obstruct a public officer – ARREST with additional charges on outstanding warrants
Summary: When a WPD officer made a traffic stop, the driver jumped and ran. A WPD K-9 Officer deployed K-9 “Deon” and tracked the suspect to a porch on Dawson Street. Eddie Daniel Wilson, III, was arrested and charged with Resist/ obstruct a public officer. He also was charged on outstanding warrants for Possession of a firearm by a felon, Failure to appear, and Probation violation. Total secure bond on all charges is $70,500. Location: 1027 S 3rd Street
Offense: Felony B&E – with ARRESTS
Summary: A neighbor called in a possible B&E to the business of J. S. Mintz Plumbing. A WPD K-9 officer responded and deployed K-9 “Arko.” Two suspects were found hiding under a tarp in the fenced in area. “Arko” apprehended one of the two suspects by his right shoe (no injury), and the other suspect also was taken into custody. The two apparently had gained entry to the property by cutting a hole in the fence. ARRESTED: Antonio Lemack (a.k.a. Lemark) Green, d.o.b. 9-18-1978 ($5,000 secure bond) and Desmond Omar Davis, d.o.b. 1-12-1980, ($5,100 secure bond), both of Wilmington. Each was charged with B & E Felony / forced and B and E Auto. Offenses: various – see below – with ARREST
Summary: A WPD officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and drove behind some apartment buildings. Then he jumped and ran. A WPD K-9 officer and K-9 “Deon” began a track, going down Collegiate Drive and then onto Randall Parkway where the suspect was found hiding in a ditch. William Andrew (aka Anthony) Collins, d.o.b. 10-19-1979, was taken into custody and ultimately was charged with DWI, Driving during revocation, and Failure to stop for blue light / siren. Collins also faces charges on thirteen outstanding warrants for various offenses, including B & E Auto (2 counts), Probation violation (2 counts) and Financial credit card fraud. He is in custody at the NHC detention facility under $52,000 secure bond. Photo attached.

Location: 1305 Dawson Street – Neighborhood Mini Mart
Offense: Armed Robbery
Summary: The store employee reported that two men came into the store. One of them brought a bag of chips to the counter. While the employee was dealing with the first man, the second man came behind the counter and pointed a gun at the employee, demanding money. The employee opened the register and the robber took cash from the drawer. The employee turned to face the wall and both men left. A customer who was in the store at the time of the robbery was able to provide partial descriptions of the robbers. The witness said both men were young, approximately 18 years of age. One was about 5’10”, 150 pounds, wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, skinny red jeans and a black fitted hat. He had box braids, with the top portion of his hair bleached white. The witness said the other man was wearing blue jeans and a long black “john shirt.” Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Wilmington Police Department at 910-343-3600. Location: 900 block Queen Street
Offense: Armed Robbery – ARREST
Summary: The victim reported that a man pulled a knife on him and took his bicycle. As a WPD officer arrived at the scene, he saw the victim and also spotted the suspect, armed with a knife and walking back toward the victim. The officer got out of his car with his weapon drawn and ordered the suspect to drop the knife. The suspect did not comply at first, but then he dropped the knife and the officer took him into custody. The bicycle was recovered a short distance away on a porch in the 1000 block of Queen Street. Lester Leroy Atkins, d.o.b. 12-23-1967, of Wilmington was arrested and charged with Robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is in custody at the NHC detention facility under $10,000 secure bond. Time: 9:20 p.m. – Tuesday night
Location: 2828 Market Street (Motel 6)
Offense: False Police Report – ARREST
Summary: The “victim” told a responding WPD officer that he went to the vending machine to get ice. He claimed that a man jumped out of a black SUV, placed a gun in his face and demanded his money. He said he gave up cash, and the man got back into the SUV and drove off. The “victim” also provided a license plate number. Based on information from the NC registration database, officers went to an address on Princess Place Drive and detained a “suspect” matching the description. The alleged victim identified the man as the person who had robbed him, and the man was taken into custody. During subsequent interviews and follow-up investigation, WPD detectives and the arresting officer determined that the alleged victim had made a false report. The original “suspect” was released. Edward Walter Blake, d.o.b. 6-29-1970, was charged with making a false report to police and was placed under $5,000 secure bond.
