Flu shots hit stores this week

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Nobody wants to get sick, but you can help avoid a sickly season, by getting your flu shot. Flu shots will be available at the New Hanover County Health Center on September 18. You can get them sooner. Starting Wednesday stores like CVS will offer vaccinations by appointment.

This year, the H1N1 and seasonal flu are combined into one shot.

“I’m going to get my flu shot this year, because last year I didn’t even get sick at all,” John Mills of Wilmington said.

The Health Department says it’s trying to get as much flu vaccine as possible to keep from running out this year.
