Sunset Beach man arrested for robbing Kangaroo store
BOLIVIA, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a subject that was involved in an armed robbery last night in the Sunset Beach area.
At approximately 10:30 pm on August 31st, a black male subject entered the Kangaroo business located at 927 Seaside Road wearing a light in color t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. The subject presented a knife to the clerk’s attention and threatened the clerk, ordering the clerk to the floor. An undisclosed amount of US Currency was removed from the cash register by the subject and he fled the scene in a dark in color vehicle. The subject did not attempt to conceal his identity.
After further investigation, detectives identified Curtis James Robinson, as the subject involved in the robbery.
Detective Ed Carter issued a warrant on Robinson for one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Robinson turned himself into deputies on September 1st and he remains incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Facility with a $ 15,000 secured bond.
