Motorcyclist dead after Market Street crash

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Highway Patrol says it looks like a motorcyclist’s mistake cost him his life last night. Investigators say 25-year-old Robert John Novello, Jr., of Carolina Beach was driving his motorcycle south on Market Street in Ogden when he crossed the center line and hit a pick-up head-on. Novello died from his injuries. It happened around 9 p.m.

Troopers say a group of riders with Novello do not know why he crossed the line. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
