Pedestrian struck and killed in Bolivia crash

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Highway Patrol says charges are pending against a driver accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian in Bolivia.

According to NCHP, troopers were called to the 1700 block of Southport-Supply Road (NC 211) just after 4:30pm on July 17th.

The NCHP says a male and female were walking east along the side of NC 211, towards the Southport-Oak Island area.

A gray Toyota Camry was traveling east along NC 211 and ran off the road to the right, striking the female pedestrian. The impact knocked the female pedestrian into the male pedestrian. The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The male pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The names of the pedestrians and the driver of the car have not been released at this time.
