Wilmington woman finds stranger in home, car stolen
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington police are investigating after a woman walked into her home and found a man inside.
It happened in the 2900 block of Chestnut Street around noon yesterday.
Police say a 77-year-old woman entered her home and saw a tall man in his early 20s standing in her living room. He told her to hand over her cell phone and keys.
Police say he then walked out the back door with the woman’s television and also stole her car. It’s a 2008 grey Honda Accord with NC plates.
Police say the suspect faces common law robbery, felony breaking and entering, motor vehicle theft, larceny after breaking and entering and interferring with emergency communication charges.
Police say its still under investigation.
