VOTE 2010: Pantano issues statement concerning sign defacement

WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – Ilario Pantano, Republican nominee for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District issued the following statement to his volunteers and supporters regarding sign defacement and sign stealing:

To all of our wonderful volunteers, I would like to personally ask you to be please make sure that you are respectful of Congressman McIntyre’s signs and all of his campaign materials. I have noticed just this morning that some of his signs have been damaged and defaced. This makes me very sad and disappointed. This is not what we are about, and I hope that it was not any of our volunteers or supporters that did anything like that. There is no reason to ever damage, destroy, or steal another candidate’s signs. It does not matter that it is happening to our signs, there is no justification for this.

Semper fi,

Ilario

In addition, Pantano added “We’ve had many reports of our signs being stolen and/or destroyed, however this is NO excuse for ever doing anything to an opponent’s sign. Behavior like that disgusts me, and we hold our supporters to a higher standard than that.”
