Brothers charged with breaking into Pender store during Hurricane Matthew
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Two brothers are in the Pender County jail accused of breaking into a store near Currie during Hurricane Matthew flooding in October.
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at Black River Mini Mart.
Joshua and Reginald Gagnier face several charges, including felony breaking and entering, trespassing during an emergency, felony possession of stolen goods, larceny after breaking and/or entering.
They’re accused of taking multiple items, including cigarettes, rolling papers, drinks, chocolate bars and toiletry items.
Investigators say Joshua Gagnier had also broken into that same store in September. He faces multiple additional charges related to that, as well as several charges for failure to appear. His bond is $169,200.00.
Reginald Gagnier’s bond is set at $60,000.
Investigators say another brother was also charged and arrested for this same crime. Travis Gagnier was caught in November. He is out of jail on bond.
