CFCC culinary students hold annual dessert exhibition

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For students at Cape Fear Community College, classes can be really sweet – particularly if they are enrolled the culinary arts program.

Tuesday, students will present the annual “Pastries and Confections” open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the college’s “Our Place” dining room.

Among the dozens of treats that will be featured are a three-foot wedding cake, an edible fireplace scene along with a huge assortment of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, cookies, truffles and much more.

Students in the class have been working toward this event throughout the semester. The last month and a half they have been really focusing and streamlining the production.

Admission is $5 per person, and all proceeds fund scholarships for culinary students.

The event will be held in the Emmart Building on Water St in downtown Wilmington.
